When St Bede’s Primary Academy became part of the Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust in 2015 they saw this as the right time to refresh their logo. The newly formed Academy were looking for a modern design which would look great across a range of channels, including uniforms, signage and website.
Choosing to redesign an established brand is a big step for any school. Often there is historical attachment to the logo; it may have been designed by a student or is significant to another key moment in the schools past.
With the change in how people use media, it is crucial that the logo works across all mediums, particularly online. Understandably, When many school logos were designed this wasn’t taken into consideration and the logo can look dated and pixelated.
Anna Coulson, Headteacher, St Bede’s Primary Catholic Voluntary Academy:
THE SUPPORT WE HAD FROM ACADEMY CREATIVE WAS FANTASTIC. THEY TOOK ON BOARD THE FEEDBACK FROM OUR WHOLE SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND CREATED A MODERN TAKE ON THE PREVIOUS LOGO.
OUR LATEST OFSTED INSPECTED JUDGED OUR ACADEMY AS OUTSTANDING AND THANKS TO ACADEMY CREATIVE WE NOW HAVE A BRAND THAT MATCHES OUR CONTINUED SUCCESS.
With a new logo comes the need for new temaplte documents, stationary, prospectus’ and signage. These are all areas which mm&d have supported St Bede’s with.
FOR 2016 WE ARE PLACING A LOT OF OUR FOCUS ON THE WORK WE DO WITH SCHOOLS. WITH MANY SCHOOLS BECOMING ACADEMIES THEY SEE THIS AS THE RIGHT TIME TO CONSIDER REBRANDING.
WE HAVE BUILT UP A STRONG REPUTATION IN THE INDUSTRY AND WE HAVE SOME BIG PLANS FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS WHICH WILL IMPROVE OUR OFFER TO SCHOOLS EVEN FURTHER.
